Thank you. This is awesome. We've got ourselves 6 complete rosters filled with wonderful people who are taking a summery Saturday to play ice hockey for fun and for charity.

ROSTERS: Listed at the bottom of this page.

  • 11:00am - Red vs Blue

  • 12:00pm - Yellow vs White

  • 1:00pm - Red vs Green

  • 2:00pm - Yellow vs Black

  • 3:00pm - Blue vs Green

  • 4:00pm - White vs Black

  • 5:00pm - (Game for Not Last) 3rd place Division 1 vs 3rd place Division 2

  • 6:00pm - (Bronze Medal Game) 2nd place Division 1 vs 2nd place Division 2

  • 7:00pm - (Gold Medal Game) 1st place Division 1 vs 1st place Division 2

RULES:

  • Gameplay rules will be consistent with standard CBL rules found HERE

  • 6 teams are split into 2 Divisions. Red, Blue, and Green are Division 1, Yellow, White, and Black are Division 2

  • Each team will play games within their divisions to determine seeding for the final games.

  • Divisional matchups have each ice time split into two consecutive 21 minute games.

  • Teams are awarded 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.

  • Following the divisional matchups, teams will then face off against the team that matches their ranking in the opposite division. Tiebreaker is goal differential, then if that’s the same, it’s fewest goals against, and if that’s the same, it’s most goals for, and if that’s the same it’s a friggin’ coin toss or something.

  • The final games will be “normal” full games with two periods. If tied after regulation, shootout time, baby.

JERSEYS:

  • Waiting for you in your team’s change room when you arrive will be a jersey labelled with your name on it. Please make sure you wear the jersey you’re assigned. We will be providing a player name cheat sheet that you can bring with you to the bench so you can say stuff like, “Good job, Cathy!” and “Nice save, Craig!” instead of finally learning your teammates’ names after the tournament is over.

  • These jerseys are loaners so please leave them in the change room in the box provided after your final game. Wanna keep it? You can purchase your jersey for $30 and it’s yours!

FOOD:

  • Lunch will be provided in our designated room at the arena. Everyone will get a lunch ticket to hand in to the caterers. There will be seating in the room, as well as outside if the weather cooperates. We’re sharing the community centre with other citizens so please be mindful of your behaviour and language and smell and make sure your garbage goes in the garbage and all that other sorta important grown-up stuff. We will also provide snacks and drinks in your locker rooms, and courtesy of our official beer sponsor, we’ll have a glorious “Bud Zero Hydration Station” set up for all the participants as well.

CHANGE ROOMS:

  • Each team will have their own designated room for the day. Each room has a key. Please be mindful if you do decide to lock it that whoever has the key has to be accessible to all their teammates. How much would it suck if you left your phone in there or your asthma puffer or your pet ferret and you couldn’t get in?!?

  • In addition to some snacks and thirst quenchers, the rooms will be stocked with lavender hockey tape courtesy of Hockey Fights Cancer, as well as an “I Fight For” sign for each player. Please use the markers provided to write down the name or names of the person or people in your life who’ve been affected by cancer. You’re fighting for them by being a part of this event. Our photographer/videographer will be capturing images and footage of the whole event including these moments before each team’s first games where all the players are holding up their signs.

EXTRA FUN:

  • Our friends from Howie’s Hockey Tape will be sponsoring a sweet prize for the Tape Ball Tossolympics. This will be a bracket tournament with all entry fees going to our friends at the Canadian Cancer Society via Hockey Fights Cancer. More details including registration coming soon!

RAFFLE ITEMS:

  • We have a lineup of incredible prizes from our friends at the NHLPA, Peterborough Petes, Rawscoe’s Sports Collectibles, and more. Tickets can be purchased on location and you drop your tickets into the ballot boxes for the prizes you want to win. The more tickets you buy, the better your odds, and all ticket sales go directly to our friends at the Canadian Cancer Society via Hockey Fights Cancer. PLEASE BRING CASH!

AFTER PARTY:

  • Following the Games, we’ve secured space at the local Shoeless Joe’s where we can meet up and eat dinner, have some drinks, and shoot the breeze about the fun that was had that day. There will be some complimentary snacks on the tables for us when we get there. If you haven’t already, please complete the pre-tournament poll HERE.
