The 7th-biggest city in Canada? Yeah. It’s a hockey town. With a phenomenal support system for men’s and women’s hockey, Mississauga is a hotbed for talent and passion for the game at all levels. It’s also home to three of our programs:

Canadian Beer League: This summer we’ll be running on Sunday evenings at both Canadian Ice Academy and Meadowvale Four Rinks. For the first time we’ll have two different divisions! Divisions are split between “House” and “Select”. House league will play at Meadowvale Four Rinks, and Select will play at Canadian Ice Academy.

“House League”, is for players who are likely to score in the 50s and 60s on our CBL Player Rating Quiz. “Select” will be better suited for those who score in the 70s. Adjustments might be made after the first few games of the season. Players may be moved between divisions, and players may be moved between teams to ensure we’ve done our best to make the divisions appropriate, and the teams as even as can be reasonably expected. The games are at the same times on the same days and the arenas are pretty close to each other, so if adjustments are made it shouldn’t be too much of a wrench in the works.

Please note that just because we have a “higher division” now, doesn’t mean that you can be crazy-lights-out-wicked-good at hockey and still fit in, okay? Someday we’ll get a “Rep” division or something like that, but until then we’re still a league for people who aren’t sad that they didn’t make the Olympic team ‘cause they were “so close”. If you’ve played at a high level or you’re scoring well into the 80s on the CBL Player Rating Quiz, you’re not gonna be a good fit and you’re probably gonna be asked to find a new league. We want mostly the same people we’ve had playing with us all along, we’re just gonna split you up into two different groups. Cool? Yay!

Beer League Hockey Practice: Co-ed practice runs on Wednesday evenings at Canadian Ice Academy from 8:30pm-9:30pm for a 9-week spring season and a 9-week summer season.

BLHP Shinny: Shinny will run on Wednesday evenings from 9:30-10:30pm, directly following practice.
